Girl next door Canadian rock chick Alanis Morissette used her homeland’s recent Juno awards to make fun of America’s puritanical obsession with “indecency” and the conservative uproar over the Janet Jackson showing her tits during the Super Bowl episode. She showed up for the Canadian equivalent to the Grammys wearing a flesh-coloured body suit with very realistic breasts and even pubic hair, only to be told by the shows producers that she couldn’t go onstage in it (spoil sport). Alanis ripped off the offending fake body parts and went out anyway but bringing shock and laughter from the audience. She not only commented on the over reaction to the Jackson incident, but also protesting over her own recent censorship issue. “As you may or may not be aware, recently in the United States, I ran into a little problem with regards to a lyric in one my songs, which includes the lyric, ‘I can be an a**hole of the grandest kind.’ It was requested that I change a word in the first verse. Well, I am overjoyed to be back in my homeland, the true North - strong and censor-free,” Alanis explained. My only question is whether that bush she ripped off was nicely groomed or was it really a jungle down there?
